How Much Does an Under-Desk Walking Pad Cost?

In short

An under-desk treadmill, or walking pad, is a flat belt with no handrail. At Comfortly the model is Orion: you work on it at a slow 1.5-3 km/h, the user limit is 120 kg, and it folds in 3 seconds. It is not a gym running treadmill. The live price, including VAT, is in the table, and it pays off only if you already have a standing desk with room for the belt underneath.

How much does a walking pad cost at Comfortly?

The price in the table comes from the store and includes VAT. The quiet walking pad for a standing desk is one product, the Orion, not a catalog of other brands. It is flat, has no handrail, and fits under a standing-desk top.

What the walking pad price actually covers

A cheap marketplace listing usually compares a different product: a running treadmill, a model with no service in Israel, or a lower user weight. The Orion price covers four things you can check:

  • Load: up to 120 kg. Above that, the pad is the wrong product even if the price looks good.
  • Work pace: 1.5-3 km/h. At that pace you can read, talk and sit in a meeting. For long typing, slow down.
  • Noise: a motor quiet enough for a phone call. A home running treadmill usually is not.
  • Storage: a 3-second fold to a slim body, with transport wheels. It does not stay in the middle of the room after work.

Slow walking at a desk burns about 100-120 kilocalories per hour more than sitting, according to a walk-and-work desk study. That is far more than standing still, which we cover in the standing desk benefits guide. The walking pad price buys those steps, not a running workout.

How to check the price before you order

  1. Measure the space under the desk

The belt has to sit fully under the top without hitting the legs or drawers. If you do not have a standing desk yet, choose one first. Desk prices are in the standing desk price guide.

  2. Compare your weight with the spec

If you weigh more than 120 kg, Orion is not the right pad. There is no point paying for a limit below the user.

  3. Decide whether you need steps or only standing

If you only want to swap sitting for standing, a standing mat is enough. It costs less and has no motor. If you want steps during the workday, you need the walking pad.

  4. Save a separate desk height

While walking, raise the desk from your normal standing height by the height of the belt, so your elbows stay near 90 degrees. Save that height as its own memory preset.

3 mistakes that distort the price comparison

  1. Buying a running treadmill instead of a walking pad. It is tall, loud, and does not fit under a desk. Its price answers a workout, not a workday.
  2. Comparing only the number in an ad. Without the weight limit, call noise and service in Israel, a lower price is not the same deal. Orion is the model sold here, with the importer's warranty.
  3. Not raising the desk. Walking on the belt without adding its height to your standing height lifts your shoulders. You save on the sticker and pay with your neck.

When the Orion price is worth paying

The price is worth it when you have a standing desk, your weight is inside the spec, and you want slow walking while you work. If one of those is missing, start with a desk or a standing mat. See the Orion walking pad with the current price on the product page.
